Having completed the refurbishment of St. Erth railway station, Dyer and Butler, the company contracted to work on the station by G.W.R. and Network Rail. Contact was made to Helston Heritage Railway to say that they, Dyer and Butler, would be pleased to donate any materials surplus to requirements which could be of use to Helston Railway. This included sleepers, buffer stop and the original platform copers from St. Erth station. These very useful railway assets were transported from St. Erth to Prospidnick, home of Helston Railway by Macsalvors (Plant Hire ) Ltd
Last Thursday Graham Marsland, Senior Site Agent for Dyer and Butler, Steve Livermore,Projects Manager for G.W.R. Stephen Jones, Senior Asset Engineer ( Buildings ), Network Rail, together Caterina Durston and Paul Walch, Project Managers, Network Rail, came to Helston Railway to officially hand over the assets. The Chairman of Helston Railway, took a few minutes away from his steam engine driving duties to formally accept these very kind donations from Graham Marsland of Dyer and Butler. Also in attendance was John Hartley and Paul Duke, both Directors of Helston Railway. After the formalities had been completed, everyone proceeded to the station and went on a steam hauled train ride to Truthall Halt.
